Two female singers with very strong voices who are good at writing lyrics but not so good at writing melodies, are looking for musicians who are awesome at writing music, but not so spectacular at writing lyrics. We want to create music that has good melodic lines, overlapping verses, rich in harmonies and but still maintains a rock edge.
Our influences are all over the place, ranging from melodic rock (Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Ours), darker rock (Muse, A perfect Circle, Tool, Mellowdrone), electronica/drum ‘n bass (Royksopp, Squarepusher, Plug), electronica laced rock (+/-, Frou Frou), pop rock (This Providence, Fall Out Boy... ), jazz and jazzy-type stuff (Etta James, Dianna Krall, Michael Buble), popular radio stuff (Pussycat Dolls, Jo Jo, Gym Class Heroes, Maroon 5) to traditional celtic music (Old Blind Dogs, Fred Morrison, Flook, Natalie MacMaster), eastern/middle eastern (Dalia Carella, Ravi Shankar, Zakir Hussein), other stuff like Chromeo, Ben Folds, The Noisettes, The White Tie Affair), and our favorite singers (Jeff Buckley, Rufus Wainwright, Jay Clifford, Chris Kincaid, Jimmy Gnecco).
We are looking for a guitarist, bassist, and drummer, preferably male between the ages of 18 and 28, give or take a couple of years. We do not have anything recorded right now, but if you want to see what we look like, look at us on myspace - http://www.myspace.com/apathyandothersmallvictories If you are interested, please contact us!! We can do things the old fashion way and talk to over the phone or sing for you face to face. If you have links, please send them. We are ready to write, record and tour.
Please, no egos, attitudes, drugs, lushes, country, metal, or gangsta rap.
